Tattile Speed Control Camera: Everything You need to know

The Tattile Smart Speed system works with a radar that continuously monitors up to two lanes with a maximum width of 7.5 meters and identifies the speed (up to 250 km / h) and the location of objects in the monitored area.

What is a speed control camera?
The camera records and controls the speed of the vehicle.

What happens if the vehicle exceeds the speed limit?
If the vehicle exceeds the speed limit at the location where the speed camera is operating, the camera's built-in radar activates the connected speed camera. At the same time, the speed monitoring camera will take a photo of the vehicle and its license plate. It will then analyze all relevant information such as date and time, registration number and country of origin of the vehicle, as well as the actual speed. This data can also be supplemented with a monochrome image of the license plate and a monochrome or color image of the vehicle. As a result, the built-in license plate recognition (ANPR) function does not require image processing by servers or IP cable communication. Internet access via LTE networks enables the camera to be installed autonomously in almost all conditions, ensuring access to all functionalities at any indicated point, with negligible expenditure on infrastructure.

What additional functions can the speed control camera perform?
The speed control camera system can ensure not only the image and license plate recognition of the infringer, but also all vehicles passing in front of the traffic camera, even in green light. This functionality enables road traffic and tax authorities to perform additional functions, such as vehicle insurance control, traffic monitoring and vehicle tracking, e.g. for safety reasons.

Additionally, the trip data collected by the speed control camera can also be used for:

  • traffic analysis
  • traffic flow optimization
  • The built-in features of the Tattile camera include: brand, color, class and model recognition classification of the vehicle type, e.g. passenger car, bus, truck, etc.
  • In addition, HD video stream provides continuous scene monitoring. The Tattile Smart Speed system can be matched with the Tattile Vega Smart Red Traffic Light system, especially in urban applications, to combine speed control and red light speeding.
